Along with the surprise announcement that there would be no new Skylanders game in 2017, came the news of additional supporting content for Skylanders Imaginators. The first of this content, the Cursed Tiki Temple Adventure Pack, is now on store shelves and we took some time to play through the level to show you what it’s all about.

The pack contains Master Wild Storm an Air Elemental Sensei Skylander of the Knight Battle Class, plus a Life Element Creation Crystal and a blue (platinum) Imaginite Chest. The Wild Storm figure unlocks the new Cursed Tiki Temple level, in much the same way that Crash Bandicoot unlocks a level, but be warned, an internet connection is required to unlock this content.

Paul Reiche talks about the new Skylanders Creator app and the ability to transfer Skylanders from the console game to the app.

Once in the app you can customise them as you would in the game and then order a 3D Printed Skylander, T-Shirt or Skylanders Card. You can’t transfer them back to the console electronically though.

In North America, 3D-printed Imaginator Figures will be available for the suggested price of $49.99 each; includes free shipping. Limited quantities will be available. Imaginator T-Shirts will be sold for $24.99 each with availability and shipping costs varying. Lastly, fans can get their hands on Imaginator Cards for $14.99; including free shipping. These items will be available using the Skylanders Creator app, which is a free mobile download, subject to availability by territory.

The app can create:

– 3D Printed Figurine: The custom-printed Imaginator arrives in full colour, posed on a base and enclosed in a clear protective dome. Activision are partnering with 3D printers Shapeways to deliver these figures and states that quantities will be limited. Place the figurine on the Portal peripheral to access them back in the console game.
– Character Card: These custom trading cards come with a letter from in-game narrator Eon and include an image of the character along with its class and element. Place the card on the Portal peripheral to access them back in the console game.
– Imaginator T-Shirt: Premium customised t-shirt with an image of the character, its Battle Class, element and name.

We take a look at a new female Sensei character for Skylanders Imaginators. Chopscotch with a range of playground themed axe attacks she’s an unusual and interesting hero.

Back Story:
The only thing that ever mattered to Chopscotch was mastering her weapon of choice, the giant axe, while rocking out to her favorite musical idol, Wolfgang.  It never bothered her that she was short in stature or that all of the other ghouls in the Underworld laughed at the way she spoke in rhymes as she made up her own lyrics to Wolfgang’s guitar jams.  So when Wolfgang joined the villainous Doom Raiders, she was devastated.  But instead of letting it destroy her, she chose to put her axe skills to good use, and fought Wolfgang and his Moon Goons when they attempted to curse her entire town during an evil concert.  Her willingness to stand up to her long time hero came as a surprise to everyone, and soon all of the villagers were speaking in rhymes in her honor.  Soon after, she met Master Eon, who was so impressed at her fighting abilities and positive outlook that he recruited her as a Sensei for the Smasher Class.  Now she teaches new Skylanders how to fight… and how to rhyme!

We get our hands on Crash Bandicoot in Skylanders Imaginators. In the hand he impresses with bright colours and a robust sculpt. There are a range of different materials used here and they combine to portray a nice overall effect.

Crash Bandicoot is a Brawler Sensei and Life Skylander. He has a full upgrade tree and special Sensei power for Brawler Imaginator Skylanders. He also has a special Sky-Chi attach involving Yo-Yos.

We get to play through the later levels of the campaign we saw at reveal.

More than that though we have new Skylanders in the form of:
– Wolfgang
– Ambush

Wolfgang wasn’t always a werewolf.  He was once a handsome, brilliant musician set to marry a beautiful princess.  Before the wedding, he planned to unveil his ultimate symphony to all the greatest music aficionados in Skylands, convinced they would love it and instantly hail him as the best composer ever.  But they didn’t.  They hated it – and even worse, it actually hurt to listen to.  He had unintentionally discovered the musical note for pain.  Being shunned like this drove Wolfgang utterly and completely mad, physically transforming him into the werewolf he is today.  With the princess no longer wanting to marry him, he turned to a life of crime, terrorizing the royal subjects and using his evil music as a weapon.  The Golden Queen took note of this and realized that Wolfgang could make a powerful ally, if she could control his rage and keep him in line. But when they were both captured by the Trap Masters, Eon gave these two Super Villains a choice – either go back to a newly reformed Cloudcracker Prison or become Skylander Senseis, teaching a new generation of Imaginators their formidable battle skills as well as how to stay clear of a life of crime. They accepted the deal but first had to prove themselves by re-arranging all the books in the Academy’s library, a task which took almost two years, almost driving Wolfgang mad again. But he got through it and realized he could earn more respect as a Sensei training the Bowslinger Class than he ever could as a musician.

We have a close look at Crash Bandicoot in the new Skylanders Imaginators game. Just announced at the Sony Press Conference this is a nice way to spice up Skylanders Imaginators this year.

In Skylanders Imaginators terminology Crash will become a fully playable Sensei and have his own Skylanders toy. This means he will have his own special Sky-Chi power that sees him use a yo-yo to yank his enemies into a spin attack!

He’ll also have a variety of attacks like his classic ability to jump on TNT Crates to blow them or collect the Bazooka Crate for a rocket launcher. Crash will feature a full move set and upgrade path based around his signature spin attack, as well as callbacks to his beloved past, including moves that incorporate exploding crates with 3-2-1 countdowns, wumpa fruit, jetpack attack from high in the air and more.

Crash will be voiced again by Jess Harnell to underline the authenticity of having Crash in the Skylanders universe.

We have the official first look at the new E3 Sensei Ambush. He is Life Knight type Skylander with a Leaf Sword, Bamboo Dash and Ring of Bamboo Attack.
