Minecraft Pocket 0.8.0 Gameplay Review – Infinite Resources Christmas Gltich

Minecraft updates are like buses. You wait for ages with nothing happening and then three come along at once — well two at least. This week sees not only a big update for Minecraft Pocket 0.8.0 but also the launch of Minecraft on the PlayStation 3. Plenty to keep block building brains and fingers of all ages happy over the festive break.

I got a family I work with to take a look at the new version of Minecraft Pocket, they were more than a little excited to discover all manner of new features popping up on their tablet. Now, to the uninitiated these may seem trivial, but believe you me it’s this level of detail that really matters to Minecraft fans.

The family picked out their favorite features (the full list is here) many of which I mentioned in my previous post on Minecraft 0.8.0: Minecarts, Rails, Powered Rails, Carpet, Cobblestone Walls, Spruce Wood, Birch Wood, Hay Bales, Iron Bars, Pumpkin, Beetroot, Carrot, Potato, and the improved view distance.

Just as I was about to leave there was a commotion in the living room as one of the younger family members discovered what seems to be a glitch that grants the player with almost unlimited resources. Each time he restarted he was restocked with unlimited amounts of materials. This in turn led to all sorts of other discoveries, not least the creation of a full suit of Diamond Armour for his sister — apparent that was her Christmas present sorted.
