With San Diego Comic-Con almost upon us, Rovio and Hasbro have taken the opportunity to reveal more information about the upcoming Angry Birds Transformers app, along with the accompanying Telepods toys. This will be the 3rd (possibly 4th, depending on when Stella is released) game in the Telepods line and we’re expecting it to follow the Angry Birds Go style of gameplay quite closely.

This being a Transformers game, it wouldn’t be much fun if the toys couldn’t transform, but as you can see from the images in our video, the Autobird and Deceptihog toys do indeed transform, with some simple articulation to make physical play that little bit more attractive. How that will be applied within the app itself has yet to be disclosed, but we’re hoping their virtual counterparts have the same ability.

We’re expecting the toys to arrive on October 1st in North America and sometime before Christmas in the UK. Retail prices of the various packs range from $5.99 for individual characters all the way up to $29.99 for the Optimus Raceway. You’ll also be able to pick up packs that contain multiple racers and launching devices along with some exclusive character variants at Toys R’ Us.
