Disney Infinity 3.0 – Boba Fett Game-Play Analysis

Just hours before the doors open on E3, Disney have announced a new addition to the line-up for the Rise Against the Empire play-set. This is the pack that covers Episodes IV-VI and already includes a slew of classic characters.

A new trailer for the game shows Boba Fett in action before outlining the route to purchase on day one will be with a PlayStation pre-order. This is similar to the exclusive Hulk figurine that was only available for the Marvel playset by ordering the collectors edition of the game on PlayStation.

This time round though the price of entry is more reasonable. Players simple have to order the game on PlayStation rather than any other platforms. Other platforms are likely to see the figure released in stand alone form at a later date. But certainly this does make the PlayStation route the most popular.

This pre-order route does have a down side for PlayStation owners who already have the game as they will likely choose to download the title digitally rather than purchasing the starter pack. Whether this still qualifies them for the special Boba Fett character is unclear.

It will be interesting to see if there are other exclusive characters in the other Star Wars playsets for different platforms or whether this is a one off deal with Sony. Certainly there are plenty of much requested Star Wars characters to make this possible on multiple formats.

Star Wars Rebels in Disney Infinity 3.0 – Analysis

We have a close look at how Star Wars Rebels characters will work in Disney Infinity 3.0. Certain characters from the popular animated series Star Wars Rebels will join Disney Infinity 3.0. Characters include Kanan Jarrus, Ezra Bridger, Sabine Wren, and Zeb Orrelios. These characters don’t have their own play-set but are “unlockable” in each Star Wars Play Set.

This, it seems, refers to the Crossover Coins that can be discovered to let you bring any Star Wars character into any Star Wars play set. Of course you can use any of them in the Play Set from the off, but being able to use them in the adventures is a nice addition this year.

Here’s a break down of the characters announced so far from Rebels.

– Jedi turned rebel fugitive, Kanan Jarrus leads his team in secret operations to help overthrow the Galactic Empire. He defends the innocent with his blaster and Lightsaber and guides his Padawan, Ezra, in the ways of the Force.
– Growing up on his own, Ezra Bridger relied on his street smarts – and subconscious Force abilities – to survive on Lothal. That changed when he met the Ghost crew; Ezra came to believe in their cause, and with the help of Kanan, began to learn the ways of the Jedi, using his custom Lightsaber to undermine the Empire and inspire the rebels.
– Sabine Wren has explosive talents for art and demolitions alike, and she won’t hesitate to use them against the Empire. She can stealthily approach and sabotage the enemy or stand alongside her rebel allies to lend her twin blasters to the cause.
– Zeb Orrelios is as strong a brawler as he is headstrong. He stands alongside his fellow rebels with his bo-rifle in hand, ready to take on the Imperial forces.

Disney Infinity 3.0 Rise Against the Empire – 12 Mins Star Wars Game-Play

We have an in depth look at game-play for the Rise of the Empire play-set from Studio Gobo. Disney Infinity 3.0 introduces a number of Star Wars playsets and characters for fans to experience. For the parents out there, the most popular of these may prove to be Star Wars: Rise of the Empire, which lets players relive epic moments from the original trilogy of films. Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia figures come bundled with the playset, while Han Solo and Chewbacca will be available to buy separately.

One of the most popular elements of the Rise of the Empire playset is sure to be the vehicle based combat, featuring iconic space craft from the franchise. Players will be able to take control of an X-Wing during the Battle of Yavin as the Rebel Alliance attack the Death Star; or jump into a Snow Speeder to protect the Rebel base on Hoth from an AT AT assault. Whatever the level, co-op is fully supported, but if you’d prefer some ground based combat, why not ditch the Snow Speeder and take control of an AT AT directly, what could be more fun than that?

Outside of the movie moments, fans of the Toy Box can dive into the Tatooine Toy Box Hub, expanding the well known hive a villainy with their own customisations. Place a Hanger in the town, watch it constructed before your very eyes, then one button press later and you’re taking a Sky Hopper for ride around the world. Of course you can always swap the Sky Hopper for a Land Speeder, Bantha or even the Millennium Falcon. The customisations don’t end there though, as Costume Power Discs return in Disney Infinity 3.0, with an X-Wing Pilot and Bounty Hunter Infiltration costumes available for Luke and Leia.
